A Wedding at the The Capen House in Winter Park
Some love stories take years to unfold, and that’s exactly what makes them so special.
These two first met in middle school, long before they ever imagined standing at the altar together. At that age, life is constantly changing, yet somehow their paths continued to circle back to one another. What began as a simple friendship slowly grew into something deeper over time, evolving alongside them as they grew up. By the time their wedding day arrived, it felt less like the beginning of a new story and more like the continuation of one that had already been written through years of shared memories and milestones. Watching them interact throughout the day...the comfortable laughter, the quiet glances, the way they naturally gravitated toward each other...it was clear that their connection had been built slowly and intentionally over time.
Their wedding at the beautiful The Capen House was intimate, elegant, and incredibly meaningful. Nestled along the lake in Winter Park, the historic venue created the perfect setting for a day that felt both timeless and personal.
With the water just steps away and their closest family and friends gathered around them, the atmosphere felt calm and intentional, less about production and more about presence. It was the kind of wedding day where every moment felt genuine, a quiet celebration of a relationship that had already stood the test of time.
Standing there exchanging vows, it was hard not to reflect on how far their story had come ,from middle school hallways to a lakeside ceremony surrounded by the people who know them best.
Weddings like this are always a reminder that a wedding film is about so much more than the day itself. It’s about the story that led up to it. The years of friendship, the moments that shaped a relationship, and the emotions that quietly unfold throughout the day. Throughout this wedding, there were so many small moments that reflected the depth of their connection. The way they looked at each other during the ceremony, the laughter shared with friends who had been part of their lives for years, and the comfort that only comes from truly knowing someone.
Those are the moments that make a wedding film feel personal.
Filming at the beautiful The Capen House always brings a sense of intimacy to a wedding day. With its historic charm and peaceful lakeside setting in Winter Park, it creates the kind of atmosphere where couples can slow down and simply be present with the people they love most.
Being able to capture stories like this....stories that have been unfolding for years...is what makes wedding filmmaking so meaningful. Every couple has a story that is uniquely their own, and preserving those moments in a way that feels authentic is something I’m always honored to be part of.
